Welcome to my head! Despite my expressionless gaze, I’m genuinely excited to share my professional journey and accomplishments with you.

ME

I’m Olli Korpi, born in 1984. From early childhood, I’ve been fascinated by technical stuff. My parents probably didn’t appreciate that I broke most of my toys just to see how they were put together. This early curiosity ignited a lifelong passion for understanding how things work and creating new innovations. Today, as a developer and innovator, I continue to explore the boundless possibilities of technology and strive to make meaningful contributions to the world around me.

EDUCATION

Primary and Lower Secondary School (1991-2000)
During this period, I attended primary and lower secondary school. My favorite subjects were arts, languages, and history.

Upper Secondary School (2000-2003)
Following my primary and lower secondary education, I continued my studies at upper secondary school. Here, I further explored my interests in arts, languages, and history while preparing for higher education.

Military Service in The Finnish Defence Forces (2003-2004)
After completing upper secondary school, I fulfilled my mandatory military service in The Finnish Defence Forces.

Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences (2004-2008)
Upon completing my military service, I pursued higher education at Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences. As part of my studies, I also participated in exchange studies at Shanghai University in 2007, broadening my academic and cultural perspectives.

Bachelor of Culture and Arts Graduation (2008)
I successfully graduated with a Bachelor of Culture and Arts degree from Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences in 2008. This educational journey equipped me with knowledge, skills, and experiences necessary to pursue a career aligned with my passions and interests.

WORK

Metronome Film & Television, Endemol Finland Oy (2009-2012)
Camera Operator

My journey into the world of media production began at Metronome Film & Television and Endemol Finland Oy where I served as a Camera Operator. This role provided me with invaluable hands-on experience in capturing visual content and operating professional camera equipment.

Mediatoimisto Juuri Oy (2011-2015)
Founder, Partner, Developer, Project Manager

Alongside my dear friend, I co-founded Mediatoimisto Juuri Oy, where I wore many hats, including those of a developer and project manager. In this dynamic two-person company, I oversaw various projects, applying my organizational skills to ensure successful project delivery.

Valakia Interactive Oy (2015-2024)
Founder, Partner, Developer

Embracing the motto “the more, the merrier,” we decided to merge Mediatoimisto Juuri and Mainostoimisto Hiottu to form a new company. With a larger team, we were able to pursue bigger projects and explore new frontiers in virtual reality and augmented reality technologies.

FREE TIME

In my spare time, I indulge in my passion for building with LEGO bricks, exploring a variety of creations beyond castles and spacecraft. Whether I’m constructing intricate fortresses, exploring the depths of the ocean with submarines, or venturing into the world of fantasy with mythical creatures and landscapes, LEGO building allows me to unleash my creativity and immerse myself in a world of endless possibilities.

Alongside my LEGO adventures, I enjoy watching movies and series, particularly sci-fi content like the Star Wars franchise and Battlestar Galactica. Exploring the imaginative worlds and futuristic concepts in these films and shows is a favorite pastime of mine. Whether it’s witnessing the epic battles of the Rebel Alliance, the gripping drama aboard the Battlestar Galactica, or diving into the mysteries of space in other sci-fi sagas, each viewing experience offers an escape into captivating realms of adventure and wonder.
